Chill Time: 30 minutes
Total Time: 50 minutes
Makes About 24 bars (depends on how you cut them)
Pan Size: 10×15-inch pan
Ingredients
• 2½ cups powdered (confectioners’) sugar
• 2 cups creamy peanut butter
• ½ cup melted margarine (or butter)
• ½ cup brown sugar
• ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
• 1 (12 oz) bag chocolate chips
Instructions
1. Prep the pan - Grease a 10×15-inch jelly roll pan and set aside.
2. Make the peanut butter layer - In a large bowl, mix powdered sugar, peanut butter, melted margarine, brown sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Press the mixture evenly into the prepared pan.
3. Melt the chocolate - Melt chocolate chips using a double boiler (or microwave in short bursts, stirring often) until smooth.
4. Assemble - Pour melted chocolate over the peanut butter layer and spread evenly.
5. Chill & serve - Let bars cool completely until set, then cut into squares.
Tips
• For cleaner cuts, chill fully and wipe the knife between slices
• Store covered at room temperature or refrigerate for firmer bars
• Butter can be used instead of margarine for richer flavor
