How I Wake Up At 5AM For The Gym

Recently I have been a morning workout girly and I have been loving it but at first, it wasn't always easy to get out of bed and get motivated to start moving.

I like to get up at 5am so that I could get to the gym for 6am, and be done by 7:30am.

Here are some tips I have for waking up early and not feeling like an absolute zombie.

- It's all in the nighttime routine. Having a proper wind down routine is crucial for having a good early morning. No phone 30 minutes before bed. The blue light right before bed messes with your circadian rhythm and makes it more difficult to fall asleep.

- Follow the 5 second rule! This means, when you're alarm goes off, count to 5 and then you have to get out of bed. The longer you lay in bed after your alarm goes off, the more tired you'll become and the more likely you will talk yourself out of getting up.

- Build a morning routine you look forward to. Whether it's listening to your favourite podcast or msuci when you wake up, your morning coffee, having a light snack or a full on breakfast, decide what gets you up and excited about your day.

- No phone when you wake up in the morning. This just delays the process of getting up and is a huge procrastination habit. Make it a habit to check your phone after you've gotten up and gotten ready for the day.

Waking up early can be hard at first but the more you do it, the easier it gets! Your body will adapt, I promise!
