My body has done everything for everyone else but fails me so.

It has created and housed my children, given them their source of life.

It has weathered numerous changes and hardships that would have easily broken others

My body has been beaten and healed over so much so that the scar tissue runs deep into the inner layering of who I am.

It has held up so many others while running on next to nothing, and lived to tell the tale

I have learned to hate it.

To hate the way my body towers towards the sky like it’s trying to grow as far away from the dirt I will inevitably become a part of one day.

To hate the way my skin reddens the second the sun touches it.

To hate the way my unruly mop of hair has never listened to make my hands had in mind.

To hate the way my cheeks make my eyes disappear when my crooked smile strikes across my face.

To hate the way the rolls on my body never quiet look like I deserve to be loved.

My body has always been my prison…
