Doing the 75 Soft Challenge

I have always been into the gym & being healthy & fit but have been trying to find my groove for the past month. What better way to start the new year & getting back on track than a challenge?! ✨

I have just over 50 days until my wedding so that’s why I am choosing to do the 75 soft instead of hard. So, here goes nothing!!

Unlike the more intense 75 Hard, the 'soft' version is designed to build sustainable habits without the extreme pressure, which is exactly what I needed to find my groove again. The main difference, as highlighted in a handy comparison chart I came across, is all about flexibility while still pushing you towards a healthier lifestyle. Let me break down the core 75 Soft rules and share how I'm tackling them: Eat Well, No Cheat Meals: This one is about mindful eating rather than a strict, predefined diet. For me, 'eating well' means focusing on whole, unprocessed foods, lots of veggies, lean proteins, and healthy fats. I'm cutting out highly processed snacks and excessive sugar. It's not about deprivation, but about nourishing my body. This rule feels much more achievable than the 'strict diet' of 75 Hard, which can be daunting for beginners or those with specific dietary needs. Drink 3 Liters of Water Daily: Hydration is key! I keep a large water bottle with me at all times and aim to refill it throughout the day. Setting reminders on my phone helps, especially when I'm busy. It's less than the '1 gallon of water' required for 75 Hard, making it a bit more manageable while still ensuring you're properly hydrated. 45 Minutes of Exercise Each Day: This is a non-negotiable for me. Whether it's a gym session, a brisk walk, a home workout video, or even dancing around my living room, I make sure to get those 45 minutes in. The beauty of 75 Soft is that you don't need two 45-minute workouts like in 75 Hard, nor does one have to be outdoors. This flexibility is fantastic, especially on days with bad weather or a packed schedule. Read 10 Pages of Any Book: This is one of my favorite rules! It's not limited to 'non-fiction reading' like in 75 Hard. I've been enjoying a mix of personal development books and some fun fiction in the evenings. It's a great way to wind down and give my brain a break from screens. No Progress Pictures: Unlike 75 Hard's requirement for 'daily progress pictures,' 75 Soft lets you focus more on how you feel rather than just how you look. This has been a huge mental relief, allowing me to celebrate internal victories like increased energy and better sleep, rather than getting caught up in superficial changes. It really shifts the focus from external validation to internal well-being. I'm loving the structure and accountability the 75 Soft Challenge provides. It’s a fantastic way to reset your habits and focus on holistic well-being without the intense pressure of the 75 Hard version. If you're considering a challenge to kickstart your health journey, definitely look into the 75 Soft – it might just be the perfect fit for you too!
