It's window painting day! Giant Tiger is celebrating its 65th Birthday this week and I'm headed to the RioCan to help get the store all festive for their big day! 🎂 🎨
And! Kid C is coming with Mama to give me a hand! Loveeeeeeee
A wonky, crazy week, but lovin all the various creative outlets I have in front of me. 💕
Sure, you can take that literally. Absolutely you can. J&I intentionally got married on the first day of summer. I celebrated winter by jetsetting to New Zealand for two months 😆
But, what about the seasons of your life?
Maybe that's why I don't celebrate birthdays anymore. Maybe that's why I'm not sold on just having this one day that we have a cake or a party to celebrate I'm still here.
Because I celebrate the seasons of my life. I'm in my 44th season. (When I put it that way, I feel like this long-standing prime time drama that just continues to roll on. 😄)
But truly. What season are you in? I feel like I've had a variety of careers, character development, rotating supporting cast members and some seasons, the writers went on strike. 😄
Breathe in every season. Be present in each. Before the credits roll.

... Read moreReflecting on the seasons of life really resonates with me, as it offers a fresh perspective beyond just marking time with birthdays. Each season, much like stages in a TV series, brings unique challenges, opportunities for growth, and changes in our personal stories. Embracing this mindset encourages living in the moment and valuing each phase, whether it’s a time of creativity, family bonding, or self-discovery.
I appreciate how celebrating seasons allows us to recognize different chapters without the pressure of a single day to mark progress or success. For example, participating in community events like Giant Tiger’s 65th Birthday window painting can be a joyous way to channel creativity and connect with others. It’s those simple yet meaningful occasions, aided by support from loved ones, that enrich our seasons.
Also, being mindful of the seasonal cycles in our emotional and professional lives can foster resilience. Like the author’s mention of varying careers and roles through the years, many of us evolve our identities, relationships, and goals over time. Sometimes the “writers go on strike,” meaning life pauses or feels stagnant, but it’s important to breathe, be present, and trust that new chapters will emerge.
Personally, I strive to acknowledge where I am in my life’s season—whether it’s a phase of learning, stability, or transition. This awareness helps me set realistic expectations and savor the growth taking place. Taking inspiration from the quoted wisdom, “Live in each season as it passes,” I find joy in embracing the now instead of always looking forward or backward.
Incorporating such reflections into daily life can improve well-being by focusing on gratitude and presence. Whether you’re celebrating small wins, artistic projects, or family support like the author’s experience with their child, these moments collectively define our rich and ongoing life story. Ultimately, it’s about being fully engaged in the evolving seasons before the credits roll.
I love the seasons we have here in Canada 🇨🇦, so distinct and very much their own personalities........
I had a student back in 1990 from NZ and I recall us being at GT and the parking lot had alot of ice on it. She was trying to navigate her footings and she yelled to me "No wonder you god damn Canadians can ⛸️ skate, all you have to walk on is ice!!"
I had never thought about it that way....😊💖🩷💖. Have a lovely week, it sounds exciting.
