I recently perfected my recipe for homemade Belgian chocolate chip cookies, and I just had to share all my tips and tricks with you. If you’ve ever wanted to make cookies from scratch that taste absolutely incredible, you’re in the right place. Getting started with homemade cookies might seem a little daunting, but trust me, it's easier than you think! The key to these amazing Belgian chocolate chip cookies really lies in the quality of your ingredients and following a few simple steps. First, let's talk about that butter. Using cold, cubed butter is a game-changer. It helps to keep the dough from spreading too much and gives your cookies that perfect chewy texture. When you cream the butter with the brown and granulated sugar, make sure to do it until it’s light and fluffy. This incorporates air, which contributes to a softer cookie. Once your butter and sugar are perfectly creamed, it’s time for the eggs. I always add them one at a time, mixing well after each addition. This ensures everything is fully incorporated and gives your dough a smooth consistency. Now for the dry ingredients: flour, baking soda, and a pinch of salt. Made these for a party and they were gone quick. Very easy recipe. Made them again today and doubled the recipe and added cream cheese baking chips as well. The recipe says it yields 16 cookies but I feel it made 10 good size cookies.
