Day 33 - Lower Body Power
Week 5 - Power Week - complete! Lower Body Power was today’s workout! We did pyramid sets (high reps/ light weight - decreasing reps / increasing weight - repeated for a total of 5 sets) followed by supersets - 2 moves, medium weight for 10 reps - 3 sets!
I’m lifting heavier and I feel stronger! We even had a weighted squat hold! 30 seconds, repeated for 3 sets! It was tough!
But I did it!
Are you ready to challenge yourself? This is just one example of many workout calendars - I’ve done over 50 of them! I am sure we can find one that will help you commit! Just message me - let’s get you started!
Power workouts are essential for building strength and endurance in your lower body. Incorporating pyramid sets—where you start with high reps at lower weights and progress to lower reps with heavier weights—is a great way to enhance your workout routine. These methods not only improve muscle strength but also help in promoting muscle growth by continually challenging your body. Supersets, which involve performing two exercises back-to-back with minimal rest, are incredibly effective for maximizing your time in the gym while maintaining intensity. A common combination could be squats followed by lunges, ensuring you engage various muscle groups in your lower body. Consider adding static holds like the weighted squat hold, which helps improve muscle endurance and stability. It’s important to listen to your body and gradually increase your weights as you build strength. If you're looking for a structured program that encompasses these elements, workout calendars that span several weeks are excellent resources. They allow for varied workouts that challenge your body and keep your training regimen fresh and engaging. Remember, commitment is key in any fitness journey.
