... Read moreAs someone who has struggled with persistent acne and sensitive skin, learning what not to do has been just as valuable as discovering new skincare routines. For example, the advice against using toothpaste as a spot treatment is a game changer; I used to apply it without realizing how irritating and drying it can be. Toothpaste contains ingredients like baking soda and hydrogen peroxide that are not meant for facial skin and can lead to redness and peeling. I was also surprised by the warning against using feminine wash products for intimate cleansing. These products often contain fragrances and chemicals that can disrupt the natural pH balance and lead to irritation or infections. Switching to gentle, fragrance-free cleansers helped me avoid discomfort and maintain better hygiene. Another insightful tip is to avoid placing your razor in the shower. Constant exposure to moisture can cause razors to harbor bacteria or degrade faster, increasing the chance of infections or skin irritation after shaving. Using fragranced laundry detergents and scent beads might seem harmless, but they can leave residues on towels and clothes that irritate the skin, particularly for those with eczema or sensitive skin. Opting for hypoallergenic, fragrance-free detergents made a noticeable difference in reducing itch and redness for me. Understanding that public yoga mats can be breeding grounds for germs was eye-opening. To stay safe, I now always bring a clean yoga towel or use my own mat during classes. Lastly, I found the advice against using scar creams without silicone to be important. Silicone-based products create a protective barrier that locks in moisture and supports scar healing, unlike some creams that lack this benefit. These practical skincare rules shared by an experienced dermatologist have empowered me to make safer choices. It's amazing how small changes, like dropping toothpaste for acne or choosing the right laundry detergent, can improve skin health and comfort significantly.

I will need you to explain the razor one. Is it because of rust? What if it has a cap/head cover?
