[Pt 16] Eating at Every Michelin Guide Restaurant

Miss Ada

🍴Food: 6/10

- standout: LAMB SHAWARMA HUMMUS nice meaty savory element

- WHIPPED RICOTTA is second favorite

- SABICH HUMMUS same hummus base, i think there's too much going on and has random unseasoned hardboiled egg

- CHICKEN SCHNITZEL it’s tasty, but lowkey could make at home, AND there’s another random hardboiled egg on top

- SHAKSHUKA can be a miss, but this one hit; tomato sauce leans towards sweeter side and is thicker

- skip: FRENCH TOAST challah is dry and way too many sauces going on

✨Ambience: 6/10

- sorta dingey, was expecting better

- rag napkins feels a little overused/dirty

🤵Service: 8/10

- accommodated a last minute res change

- we had a funny waitress

Miss Ada

... Read moreSo, you're thinking of trying Miss Ada? Smart choice! This NYC spot has earned itself a Michelin Bib Gourmand, meaning it offers exceptional food at a reasonable price point. If you're like me, you're looking for the full scoop before you go, especially regarding the menu, how to get a table, and what makes it truly special. First off, let's talk about Miss Ada reservations. They can be a hot commodity, particularly for prime dinner slots. While I had a bit of luck with a last-minute change, my best advice is always to book well in advance. Keep an eye on their reservation platform (often Resy or similar) and be flexible with your times. Sometimes, checking back for cancellations can also pay off if your desired slot is initially unavailable. Knowing this upfront can save you some stress! Now, for the Miss Ada menu – it's a delightful journey through Mediterranean flavors. Beyond the dishes I've already highlighted, it’s worth diving deeper into what makes their offerings unique. The Lamb Shawarma Hummus is truly a marvel. The tender, spiced lamb, often enhanced by a tangy amba sauce (which many search for!), pairs perfectly with the creamy hummus base, creating a rich, flavorful experience. It’s definitely a standout and a dish I’d highly recommend trying. Another crowd-pleaser is the Whipped Ricotta, elegantly presented and drizzled with honey and brown butter – it’s a delightful balance of sweet and savory textures, making it a perfect starter. While the Chicken Schnitzel was enjoyable and well-prepared, it might not be the most adventurous choice if you're seeking dishes unique to Miss Ada's style. However, if you're a fan of a classic done right, it's a solid option. For brunch-goers, the Shakshuka is a must-try; its rich, slightly sweet tomato sauce and perfectly poached eggs are a comforting and flavorful way to start the day. Be aware with the Sabich Hummus, as it prominently features a hard-boiled egg – a personal preference to consider. I also noticed Chocolate Babka in the OCR results, which sounds like a fantastic dessert option if you have a sweet tooth after your savory meal, offering a rich, comforting finish. And for those contemplating the Challah French Toast (as seen in the OCR with labne mousse and raspberry marmalade)—while my experience found it a bit dry, personal tastes vary. It’s a decadent dish, and if you love complex, sweet brunch items, it might be right up your alley. The ambience, while a bit dim, contributes to a cozy and intimate dining experience, perfect for a relaxed evening. Overall, a visit to Miss Ada offers a memorable culinary adventure, and knowing these insights about their menu, specialties, and reservations can truly enhance your outing.
