Proud mom of autism son. I use up all my patience for my son and my girls every day and will never have any left for anyone else!

... Read moreBeing a mother of an autistic child is a journey filled with unique challenges and profound rewards. Through my daily life, I have learned that patience is not just a virtue but a necessity. Every interaction with my son requires a deep understanding and a readiness to adapt to his needs, which often demands all the emotional energy I have for the day. What stands out the most in my experience is the balance between caring for my autistic son and my daughters. Each child brings their own demands and joys, making patience a precious resource that gets fully invested in their wellbeing. It’s a demanding role, but the moments of connection, progress, and love make it utterly worthwhile. The support community around autism is invaluable. Connecting with other parents and sharing stories about patience, advocacy, and setting boundaries has helped me feel less isolated. Additionally, simple acts such as customizing cups or items with comforting designs or messages for my son reflect the personal touches that make a difference in our daily life. One of the most empowering lessons I’ve learned is the importance of never letting my child walk alone. This means guiding him through challenges, fostering his independence at his own pace, and always standing as a steadfast support in his journey. It’s a reminder that love and determination are the pillars that sustain us. In all, being an autism mom has taught me resilience, empathy, and the profound impact of dedicated love. To any parent on a similar path, I encourage embracing each day’s learning curve with an open heart and the knowledge that your efforts shape a brighter future for your child.

And I struggle. I am a human being. Sure, I have good days and not-so-good days, where my pain flares up and I feel dysphoric and the sound of students makes me want to scream due to overstimulation. Sure I cry a lot in my free time, and sleep as soon as I get home, I forget to eat and drink. S

The creator wears gold under-eye masks and a patterned jacket, holding packets. She expresses, 'I have awful imposter syndrome, and often wonder if I am doing this right,' reflecting her vulnerability.
My struggles as an autistic & ADHD content creator
As my social media accounts continue to grow, I am becoming acutely aware of just how hard it is to be perceived and judged by the general public. The more mean comments I get, the more I start to question my value and worth as a creator. At the core of my being, I know why I do this: For visibi

A person sits on a window ledge, looking out at city buildings, with text explaining that meltdown behaviors like crying or going nonverbal are due to overload, not control or intention.
What Autistic Meltdowns Actually Are (and What They’re Not)
Autistic meltdowns are widely misunderstood, especially in adults who learned early how to mask. When someone has spent years pushing through discomfort, overriding sensory strain, and prioritizing appearing “fine,” it makes sense that the system eventually reaches capacity. A meltdown isn’t a str
