Hitting the double digits! Omg! I am so proud of myself that I have kept going! It is hard sometimes because of my work schedule but I make it a point to do it and get my day started! It feels good! Last pic was of me after the gym! I was worn out! But totally worth it! I am happy that I made the decision to do this!
Question? What do you guys listen to at the gym? Or working out? I am listening to some music but I felt more pumped when I watch action movies but on a normal day I never watch action movies so I been rewatching the same scenes over and over again I need something new!
Shirt: Walmart- Halloween Ready!
Leggings: I am actually not sure I want to say Old Navy but not quite sure!
... Read moreMy 75 Soft Challenge journey is all about consistency and finding what truly motivates me to move every single day. Just like I was asking about new music or movies for the gym, I'm always exploring different types of workouts to keep things fresh and ensure I'm getting a truly full-body experience. It’s not just about showing up; it’s about making those workouts count!
When it comes to full-body workouts, there are so many options, but three popular ones that often come up are HIIT, Pilates, and Barre. Each offers unique benefits, and honestly, incorporating a mix of them can be a game-changer for your fitness goals, especially during a challenge like the 75 Soft.
HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training): The Powerhouse
HIIT is my go-to when I'm short on time but want maximum impact. It involves short bursts of intense exercise followed by brief, active recovery periods. Think burpees, jump squats, and mountain climbers done back-to-back. The beauty of HIIT is how efficient it is; you can torch calories and boost your metabolism in just 20-30 minutes. It's fantastic for cardiovascular health and building endurance. When I’m pushing through a tough HIIT session, especially on a Friday, I feel like my 'Friday the 13th' shirt gives me that extra bit of grit! It's demanding, but the feeling of accomplishment afterward is totally worth it. I sometimes recall that powerful Frida Kahlo quote about endurance, it really helps me push through those last few reps!
Pilates: Core Strength & Flexibility
For days when my body craves something a little more controlled and focused, I turn to Pilates. This method emphasizes core strength, flexibility, balance, and overall body awareness. It's less about breaking a sweat intensely and more about precise, flowing movements that engage your deep stabilizing muscles. Pilates has been incredible for improving my posture and strengthening my core – something that helps with all my other workouts and even just sitting at my desk. It’s a low-impact option, making it great for active recovery days or when you want to build strength without jarring your joints. I love doing Pilates in my comfy dark leggings, as they allow for full range of motion, letting me focus entirely on my form.
Barre: Sculpt & Tone
Then there's Barre, which I've found to be surprisingly challenging and effective! Inspired by ballet, it uses small, isometric movements, often at a ballet barre (though you can use a sturdy chair at home). Barre focuses on high repetitions and tiny pulses to fatigue your muscles, leading to incredible toning, especially in the legs, glutes, and arms. It also does wonders for flexibility and posture, similar to Pilates, but with a different kind of burn. It’s a low-impact workout that leaves your muscles shaking in the best way possible. Even when I’m wearing my black athletic shoes, I still feel a bit graceful, even if I'm wobbling a little!
Which One for Your Full-Body Workout?
So, how do these compare for a full-body workout? All three, when done correctly, can offer significant full-body benefits. HIIT is excellent for cardiovascular fitness and overall conditioning, Pilates excels at core strength and flexibility, and Barre is fantastic for muscle endurance and toning. For a truly well-rounded fitness journey, I'd suggest incorporating elements from all three, just like I try to find variety in my workout music. Mixing things up prevents plateaus and keeps you engaged. Listen to your body, choose what feels right for your energy levels, and most importantly, find what keeps you motivated to keep showing up, day after day, just like I'm doing on my 75 Soft Challenge! What are your favorite full-body workouts to keep motivated?
Nice! I wanna do it, too, but I'd probably start off with like a 10-minute workout. I've started working out a few times before and did too much and quit too soon.
