Brown Sugar & Espresso Overnight Oats☕️
I am back on my overnight oats kick and wanted to try a new flavor combination this week of brown sugar & espresso (or cold brew in my case).☕️
Recipe:
-1 Cup of Rolled Oats
-1 Tablespoon of Brown Sugar
-Your preference on chia & hemps seeds. ( I did about 1/2 tablespoon each)
-Pinch of Salt
Stir before pouring in the liquids.
-1/4 Cup of Espresso or Cold Brew
-1 Cup of Your Choice of Milk (I did Oat Milk)
I topped it off with granola and a banana in the mornings before eating.
I'm so glad I got back into my overnight oats routine, especially with this delicious Brown Sugar Espresso Overnight Oats recipe! It's been a game-changer for my busy mornings. There’s something incredibly satisfying about waking up to a ready-made, flavorful breakfast that gives you that much-needed coffee kick without actually having to brew a separate cup. This espresso oatmeal truly combines the best of both worlds. But you know, sometimes I don't have cold brew or espresso on hand, and that's totally okay! If you're wondering how to make espresso oats without an espresso machine, you can easily substitute with a strong shot of instant coffee dissolved in a tiny bit of hot water, or even just really strong brewed filter coffee with oat milk. The key is getting that rich coffee flavor to mingle with the brown sugar goodness, giving you a taste that's surprisingly similar to a brown sugar shaken espresso, but in breakfast form! Many people search for 'coffee oats' or 'making oatmeal with coffee,' and this recipe perfectly fits that bill, offering a unique twist on your standard bowl. A lot of people ask about making 'Starbucks overnight oats' at home, and honestly, this recipe gets pretty close to that delicious cafe vibe. To elevate it even further, sometimes I add a tiny splash of vanilla extract along with the brown sugar for a more complex sweetness. The combination of 'brown sugar espresso' and creamy oat milk makes it feel like a treat, not just a healthy breakfast. If you're making a batch for the week, which is a fantastic idea for a 'recipe for 5 days' of breakfast, just make sure to store them in airtight jars in the fridge. They usually last perfectly for 3-4 days, so you can prep a few at a time, making your mornings even smoother. This is where the 'oats overnight' concept really shines for meal prep! And for those curious about different oat types – I always recommend rolled oats for the best texture in overnight oats. They absorb the liquid slowly overnight, resulting in a perfectly chewy, creamy consistency. However, if you're in a pinch with quick oats or even something like Ready Brek, you can still make it work! Just be aware the texture might be a bit softer and absorb liquid faster, so you might need slightly less liquid. Most people enjoy overnight oats cold, right out of the fridge, as they're intended. But if you prefer yours warm – perhaps on a chilly morning – you can gently heat them in the microwave. For 'how long to heat up overnight oats,' I'd suggest starting with 30-60 seconds, stirring, and adding 15-second increments until it's just warm enough. Be careful not to overheat it, or it loses that lovely creamy 'overnight' texture and can become mushy. This truly is one of the best morning breakfast ideas because it's customizable, energizing, and so satisfying. Don't forget to top it off with your favorite additions like granola, banana slices, or even a sprinkle of cocoa powder for an extra treat!
