I got As and she saying I am on my phone to much ๐Ÿคจ

2025/9/3 Edited to

... Read moreIt's a classic scenario, isn't it? You're just chilling, maybe scrolling through your feed, catching up with friends, or even doing some quick research for a project, and then bam โ€“ the familiar lecture begins. "You're always on your phone!" "You spend too much time on that thing!" "It's going to ruin your eyes/brain/grades!" Sound familiar? I swear, sometimes it feels like my phone is Public Enemy #1 in my house. But then, the moment of truth arrives: report card day. And what do they see? A's. Straight A's. The very grades they were convinced your phone habit would utterly destroy. That moment when my parents see my good grades after complaining that I'm on my phone too much? Pure gold. It's a mix of vindication, a little bit of 'I told you so,' and honestly, a huge sigh of relief. All those complaints about screen time seem to magically disappear, at least for a little while. It's like, 'See? I can manage both!' I mean, 'how I feel when my parents see my good grades after complaining that I'm on my phone too much' is a whole mood in itself. It's the ultimate proof that we, as students, can actually balance our lives. We're not just glued to our screens; we're also learning, growing, and achieving. Sometimes, our phones are even tools for learning โ€“ quick searches, educational apps, connecting with study groups, or even just a well-deserved mental break after a tough study session. So, how do we navigate this common parent-kid dynamic? I've personally picked up a few strategies that might help you too. First, setting boundaries for myself has been a game-changer. I try to have dedicated study blocks where my phone is either on silent, in another room, or used only for academic purposes. This way, when I'm not studying, I can enjoy my screen time without guilt. Second, sometimes showing my parents how I use my phone for school โ€“ whether it's for research, flashcards, or even organizing my schedule โ€“ helps them understand it's not all just mindless scrolling. Communication is key! Another thing I've realized is that it's important to understand where they're coming from. Parents usually worry because they care about our well-being and future. While their delivery might sometimes feel like an accusation, the underlying sentiment is often love and concern. So, instead of just getting defensive, I try to prove them wrong through my actions โ€“ by consistently delivering good grades. It builds trust and shows them I can be responsible. Ultimately, finding that sweet spot between enjoying your tech and excelling academically is a personal journey. But if you're pulling off those A's despite the 'too much phone' comments, know you're not alone in that struggle, and you're clearly doing something right! Keep up the great work, and don't let anyone tell you your phone time is holding you back if your report card tells a different story.
