This is the LolaVie Exfoliate & Detox Scalp Shampoo.
This is the BEST exfoliating shampoo I've ever used!! As you can see by the photo I literally cut it open to get every last drop of product out. I love the precise tip. I can run it along my scalp and apply it exactly where I want it. And a little goes a long way. It is also not full of menthol and doesn't burn my eyes like a lot of exfoliating shampoos do. It makes my scalp feel so refreshed. I notice a lot less breakage in my hair too, and a lot of new hair growth since my scalp is so healthy. I have 0 dandruff, no dry spots, no flakes. My hair is soft and so so healthy. This has been one of the greatest products I've ever found for my hair. I use a scalp massager with this and it makes a huge difference in my scalp health!! It is expensive, I think it's $39. But it is 100% worth it!! And it’s Jennifer Aniston’s brand - so you know it’s gonna be great!!
... Read moreOkay, so I know a lot of you might be wondering, 'Can LolaVie products cause scalp breakouts or acne?' That was actually a concern I had when first trying the Exfoliate & Detox Scalp Shampoo. We've all been there with a new hair product, right? You're excited for the benefits, but then dread the potential scalp irritation or those pesky hairline breakouts. Well, I'm thrilled to share my personal experience: for me, this LolaVie shampoo has been anything but irritating. In fact, it's done the complete opposite!
I think what makes a huge difference with this particular exfoliant, unlike some harsher ones I've tried, is its gentle approach. Many exfoliating shampoos rely heavily on physical exfoliants that can be too abrasive, or strong chemical exfoliants that might disrupt the scalp's delicate balance, potentially leading to irritation or even encouraging breakouts. But with LolaVie, I've found it's incredibly balanced. The precise tip on the 180 mL tube allows for targeted application, so you're not just scrubbing your whole head blindly. You can really get to those areas that need attention, like the crown or behind the ears, without over-stimulating sensitive spots.
Scalp exfoliation is such a game-changer, and if you haven't incorporated it into your routine, you absolutely should! Beyond just feeling refreshed, a good scalp exfoliant like this one helps to remove product buildup, dead skin cells, and excess oil that can clog hair follicles. This is key for preventing those dreaded ingrown hairs or scalp bumps that often get mistaken for acne. By keeping the follicles clear, your hair has a healthier environment to grow, which totally aligns with the new growth and reduced breakage I've been experiencing. It's like giving your scalp a fresh start, allowing your hair treatments and conditioners to work even better.
For those concerned about sensitivity or breakouts, here are a few tips based on my experience. Firstly, always do a patch test if you have a very sensitive scalp, just like you would with a new skincare product. Secondly, while the instructions might vary, I personally use this shampoo once a week. Over-exfoliating can sometimes be counterproductive, so finding your sweet spot is important. I always follow up with a nourishing conditioner or hair mask to ensure my scalp and hair stay hydrated after the deep cleanse. And yes, using a scalp massager with it, as I mentioned, truly elevates the experience and helps circulate blood flow, further promoting a healthy scalp environment.
I've tried other exfoliants that left my scalp feeling stripped or tingly in an uncomfortable way, sometimes even leading to a rebound in oil production. But with LolaVie, my scalp feels perfectly balanced – clean, soft, and never tight or dry. It truly lives up to its "Detox" claim, and for someone who was initially apprehensive about adding another step that might cause issues, I'm genuinely impressed. If you're on the fence because of past experiences with irritating scalp treatments or worries about breakouts, I'd honestly say give this one a try. It might just be the gentle, effective exfoliant your scalp has been craving, just like it was for mine!
