This is the L’Oréal Infallible Blur-fection Longwear Loose Setting Powder in shade Light Pink. I really really like this powder!! This is the perfect light pink loose powder for brightening up your under eye. Shelby Ann turned me onto this (like the rest of the internet lol) and this is totally worth the hype! It blurs and sets my under eye so beautifully! But I absolutely HATE this packaging. It has VERY small holes on one little corner where you can dump out the powder. I had to carve bigger holes with scissors to be able to get more powder out. I did finish this to the best of my ability, but there was definitely more powder I couldn’t get out. I could also not remove that lid either, there was no way for me to take it off and I hate that. I don’t want a sifter on my loose powders. A mesh net like the About Face loose powder has would even be better. And I didn’t feel like there was that much product in this one either. It’s 0.21 oz for $15.99 at Ulta! I should at least get a full ounce, if not 2 for that price in my opinion. I really love the formula of this powder, but unless they chance the packaging I don’t think I’ll buy this again. It’s just too hard to get product out, and the price is really high for the little amount of product you get overall.
I’ve been using the L’Oréal Infallible Blur-fection Longwear Loose Setting Powder in Light Pink for a while now and wanted to share some personal tips that might help make the most of this product despite its packaging issues. When I first opened the powder, I encountered the same problem with the tiny holes in the sifter that made it difficult to dispense the powder. What worked best for me was to very carefully enlarge the holes a little bit, just like mentioned, but with extreme caution to avoid spilling the powder. Alternatively, using a small, clean makeup spatula or brush to scoop out the powder helped circumvent the packaging hurdle without damaging it further. Beyond packaging, I completely agree the formula is impressive. The light pink tint really does brighten my under-eye area and gives a smooth blur effect that lasts for hours. I found it sets my concealer well while keeping my skin looking fresh and natural rather than cakey. It’s also finely milled enough that it doesn’t emphasize fine lines or dryness—often a problem with loose powders for under eyes. Price-wise, the 0.21 oz size definitely feels small for almost $16. When I compare it to other setting powders that come in larger sizes with similar or lower prices, this felt like a compromise. However, for those who primarily want a brightening effect rather than full-face setting powder, this smaller size might be justified. If you’re hesitant about the packaging but love the formula like I do, I suggest pairing this product with a different container. You might transfer the powder to a reusable jar with a better sifter or mesh net, similar to the About Face powder mentioned. This small extra step can save you frustration and make application a lot smoother. Overall, while the Blur-fection powder is a great performer in terms of results, packaging improvements would make it a lot more user-friendly. If L’Oréal addresses the dispensing issues and offers a larger size for the price, it could be a top contender in the setting powder market. Until then, I might repurchase only if I find a better packaging alternative or a sale deal.
