Meet Eugenia my sourdough starter.

My 2025 goal was to learn how to make my own bread. This month we starter that journey from scratch. Above is the process I witnessed as I rehydrated an old sourdough starter I was given by a family friend for cpChristmas after sharing my new dream.

It took me 6 days to get Eugenia loaf ready. I used a simple tutorial I found online and it worked wonders, she is more active than ever and gives me AMAZING loaves. 🥖🍞🥨

I am so excited to find new recipes and make so many random sourdough creations.

Throughout the fermentation, you may encounter phases like the initial inactive stage to the vigorous bubbling stage, similar to what I experienced with Eugenia. Once your starter is active, you can explore various sourdough recipes to use it effectively, such as classic sourdough bread, sourdough pancakes, or even pizza dough. Enjoy experimenting and don't hesitate to join online communities, where fellow bakers share their experiences, challenges, and successes in sourdough crafting.
