Medically managed weight loss

I’ve lost 20lbs with the help of wegovy and my dietitian!

My plan will have me lose about 12 more and then I’m in maintenance.

2 years ago I was my heaviest at 180 after coming home from a cruise. I was so unhappy with myself and to top things off, I was prediabetic. I fought for 2 years to start a semaglutide and never got approved so I lost and gained over 2 years in unhealthy ways. Here I am at 152 but I flux between that and 150 right now! My sw was 170 on October 1st.

... Read moreLosing weight through medically managed approaches like semaglutide (Wegovy) has become increasingly popular, especially for those struggling with obesity and related health conditions like prediabetes. This weight loss journey highlights not just the physical transformation but also the emotional and medical hurdles faced along the way. Wegovy, a GLP-1 receptor agonist, is FDA-approved for chronic weight management and works by reducing appetite and increasing feelings of fullness. Its effectiveness, when combined with nutritional counseling by a dietitian, can significantly improve weight loss outcomes. Achieving a drop from size 12 to size 6 in just two months, as indicated in the image, is remarkably motivational and showcases how impactful medically supervised weight loss can be. However, it's important to recognize that it often requires persistence; the author mentions fighting for two years for medication approval and dealing with fluctuating weight during that time. This is common as insurance barriers and the need for medical supervision can delay treatment initiation. Maintenance after substantial weight loss is equally crucial. Continuing to work with healthcare providers helps prevent regain and supports sustained lifestyle changes. Integrating balanced diet plans, regular physical activity, and mental health support complements medication benefits. If you are considering a similar path, consulting with healthcare professionals to establish an individualized, safe plan is essential. With dedication, combining Wegovy and dietitian assistance can help overcome weight-related health issues and enhance quality of life, as experienced in this authentic story.
