Switching to OMAD (one meal a day) helped, but the key was finding a meal that truly kept me full and satisfied. This high-protein sweet potato hash has been a game-changer for me. It combines the natural sweetness and fiber of diced sweet potatoes air-fried to crispy perfection with the savory flavors of cooked bacon, sautéed red bell peppers and onions, and gooey mozzarella cheese. The inclusion of eggs adds a powerful protein boost—about 53 grams per meal—which really helped curb the usual intense sugar and snack cravings I used to get. I follow a simple process: air frying sweet potatoes at 400°F for 15-20 minutes gives them a crispy texture without the need for extra oil. Cooking bacon separately and chopping it ensures I get that delicious smokiness mixed in. Then I sauté onions and peppers, combine all ingredients, create wells for eggs, and top with mozzarella before covering the pan until the eggs are set. The optional parsley adds a fresh note. The volume, protein content, and balance of real food ingredients keep me full for hours, eliminating the urge to snack late at night or reach for sugary treats like cookies and chocolate. Plus, the meal’s crispy, cheesy, and savory combination is extremely satisfying and enjoyable, making it easier to stick to my eating plan.
