Ingredients

1. 1 loaf frozen bread dough (Rhodes or similar), thawed and proofed

2. Imperial spread (or your favorite margarine/butter spread)

3. Dark brown sugar

4. Ground cinnamon

5. Nonstick spray or butter for the loaf pan

Instructions

1. First proof:

Let your frozen loaf thaw and proof until doubled in size.

2. Roll it out:

Roll the dough into a big rectangle or oval, about ¼-inch thick.

3. Butter it:

Spread a generous layer of Imperial all over the dough.

4. Sugar + cinnamon:

Sprinkle a thick layer of dark brown sugar, then coat it with cinnamon.

5. Cut + twist:

After all the filling is on, slice the dough completely in half lengthwise so you have two long strips.

Then twist or braid the two strips together so the cinnamon-sugar layers show.

6. Pan it:

Place your twisted dough into a greased loaf pan.

7. Second proof:

Let it rise again for 20–30 minutes until slightly puffed.

8. Bake:

Bake at 350°F for 50–60 minutes, until deep golden brown. Tent with foil if it’s getting too dark.

9. Cool & enjoy:
