Randomly Picking Colors from 12 LBS of gel polish

I did these nails with random polishes. I haven't used some of these in 7 years... and I definitely found out why I stopped using some of them 😫

I think the final designs turned out super cute though. What do you guys think?

... Read moreExperimenting with random selections from a huge stash of gel polishes can be a surprisingly fun way to rediscover forgotten favorites and assess old formulas. In this challenge, randomly picking 3 colors from a hefty 12 lbs collection meant I confronted polishes I hadn’t touched in years, revealing why some were shelved in the first place—perhaps due to fading, difficult application, or unexpected drying times. When working with gels, it’s important to test the consistency and curing times of each polish, especially older bottles. Sometimes, pigments separate or formulas thicken, which affects application and finish. I found that even though some colors didn’t meet current standards, combining them randomly resulted in charming, fresh designs that felt spontaneous and playful. Taking part in nail challenges like this encourages creativity and can teach valuable lessons about product longevity and compatibility. Plus, it’s a great way to use up ingredients before buying more. If you’re inspired, try picking random colors from your own collection and share your results with the #nailchallenge community. Remember, experimenting not only re-energizes your nail routine but can also highlight professional tips such as prepping nails properly, curing each coat fully, and sealing with a quality top coat to ensure durability and shine. Whether a beginner or seasoned nail artist, this type of playful exploration keeps the process fun and fresh.
