Giving yourself more time as an ADHDer

Sometimes, I feel like it takes me 3 times the time and effort as most of the other people around me. But instad of getting caught up on that comparison, I just do what I can to accommodate myself.

I’ve learned that there are three categories these seem to fall into: physical, executive function and time. For physical, I use easy hairstyles. I’ll straighten my hair one day, braid it and put it up overnight, use the braids the next day. On the third day, I’ll use dry shampoo and take out the braids for a wavy look… And so on and so forth.

To aid executive function, I make sure to meal plan once a week and have things I can easily grab and eat for meals, as it takes less time and energy. I also eat better on these days.

And lastly, to help with time, I set reminders and timers to go off through the day. It reminds me when it’s been an hour (even if it only feels like 10 minutes!)
