freedom—it’s something we all long to walk in. as christian women, many of us make intentional choices—to do or not do certain things—to safeguard freedom. but have you ever stopped to consider the difference between freedom from a natural perspective versus a Kingdom one?
in natural terms, freedom is often defined by what we can say, where we can go, or what we feel entitled to. it’s tied to rights, independence, and the removal of external restrictions. while these things matter, Kingdom freedom is not earned, maintained, or granted by human authority. it’s an inheritance, one secured by Jesus and freely given to each of us.
whether you need freedom from sin, fear, or the weight of another’s choices—God isn’t withholding it from you. He’s inviting you to step into what has already been given.
now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. (2 corinthians 3:17)
but this is noteworthy: there’s nothing constraining or forceful about God. the freedom He’s gifted us includes the freedom of choice—we choose whether or not to surrender our will to His.
it is for freedom that Christ has set us free. stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. (galatians 5:1)
take a moment to sit with God. ask Him to show you what you’ve believed about freedom that isn’t true. as He gently highlights those lies, invite Him to fill you with a new perspective, empowering you to walk in this unshakable truth : you were made to live free.
