Step 1- Chop 1/2 of a yellow onion and 3 cloves of garlic.
Step 2- Chop 8oz’s cream cheese into medium sized cubes.
Making the Spinach dip
Preheat fire to medium high heat.
Step 3- Add 4 Tablespoons of unsalted butter into a large saucepan. Spread the butter around the bottom of the pan and let the butter melt.
Step 4- Add 1 cup chopped yellow onion and 1 tablespoon chopped garlic. Stir all ingredients together. Let sauté for 6 minutes.
Step 5- Add 1 pound of chopped spinach and 1/4 cup water. Stir all ingredients together. Let sauté for 6 minutes while stirring every 2 minutes.
Step 6- Add 8oz’s cream cheese and 1 cup of sour cream. Stir all ingredients until mixture is creamy and smooth.
Step 7- Add 1 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon Tony Chachere’s creole seasoning, 1 teaspoon onion powder and 1 teaspoon garlic powder. Stir all ingredients together. Let simmer for 4 minutes while stirring every two minutes. Turn fire off and let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
