It is not the world that darkens my sight, but the thoughts I choose to believe about it. As condemnation falls away, what has always been present begins to shine through: the quiet glory God placed within every one of us.

🧩 Every time I release a judgment instead of defending it, another piece of the puzzle settles into place. I discover that forgiveness restores my vision far more than condemnation ever protected it.

Today I'm paying attention to every critical thought that arises. Rather than feeding it, I'm choosing to remember that clear vision begins with mercy.

In my personal journey with A Course in Miracles, Lesson 218 has been a powerful reminder that the judgments we hold not only cloud our perception of the world but also obscure our awareness of our own inner light. This lesson teaches that condemnation is a self-inflicted wound that darkens our sight and keeps us from experiencing true peace. When I first started applying this lesson, I noticed how quickly negative judgments about others and myself would surface, almost automatically. By consciously choosing to release these judgments instead of defending them, I began to feel a lightness and clarity that was both liberating and healing. It wasn’t about denying reality but about refusing to accept the veil that condemnation places over our awareness. The phrase "Only my condemnation injures me" resonated deeply. It shifted my focus inward, encouraging me to take responsibility for my own peace rather than blaming external circumstances. This empowerment makes forgiveness not just a moral imperative but a practical path to restoring vision and aligning with the quiet glory that Lesson 218 points to. I also found that patience with myself during this process was essential. Judgment can be deeply habitual, so each moment of choosing mercy over criticism felt like placing another piece in a larger spiritual puzzle. Over time, these moments of compassion helped me realize that I am not confined by my body or past mistakes; I am free, as God created me. Practicing this has influenced many areas of my life, from how I relate to others to how I handle internal criticism. It encourages a shift away from reactive thoughts toward a more peaceful and centered way of being, aligning well with the spiritual themes of universal consciousness and reentry into awareness.
