A Course In Miracles Lesson 129
I notice how quickly I feel like something is missing if I stop valuing what I was chasing.
Lesson 129
Beyond this world there is a world I want.
🌿 When I let go of something I thought mattered,
there’s often a gap.
A sense that something should be there.
Something to replace what I just released.
That space can feel uncomfortable.
Like I’ve lost direction
or given something up without replacing it.
The mind wants to fill it quickly.
Find something else to pursue.
Something else to organize around.
The Course clarifies what that space actually is.
It’s not loss.
It’s the removal of something that never truly satisfied.
And what remains is not empty—
it’s just unfamiliar.
Because I’m used to defining value through what I chase.
This lesson introduces a different orientation.
If nothing here provides what I want,
then letting go is not the end.
It’s the opening.
There is something beyond what I’ve been assigning value to.
Not something I construct.
Something I become aware of
when I stop filling the space with substitutes.
That’s why both lessons go together.
One removes the false value.
The other points beyond it.
Without that second step,
letting go would feel like loss.
But it isn’t.
It’s movement.
Today I’m paying attention to that gap
when I stop chasing something.
Not rushing to replace it.
Not labeling it as lack.
Just allowing it to be there.
Beyond this world there is a world I want.
I am MovingStill.

In my personal journey with Lesson 129 of A Course In Miracles, I’ve found profound insights in the process of letting go—an experience many can relate to. When we release something we've been pursuing, there often appears a gap, a feeling that something should fill the void immediately. But this lesson reminds us that this space isn’t truly empty; it’s just unfamiliar because we are breaking free from old patterns of assigning value to transient things. One key takeaway from this lesson is the idea that what we thought was valuable often lacks lasting satisfaction. When I first practiced this, I realized how frequently I chased goals or possessions, believing they would complete me, only to find a lingering emptiness afterward. This discomfort, which the lesson calls "the gap," isn’t loss but an opening for something far more meaningful. The Course encourages us not to rush filling this space but to sit with it, allowing ourselves to become aware of a new orientation—one that doesn’t depend on external substitutes. This shift is crucial because the mind tends to instantly seek replacements, reinforcing cycles of temporary satisfaction. By resisting that urge, I experienced a transformative sense of peace and clarity. Reflecting on the OCR content, which highlights the transition from valuing the transient world to choosing a more enduring, joyful one, I found inspiration to integrate daily practice. Focusing on affirmations like “Beyond this world there is a world I want,” I began dedicating quiet moments morning and night to reaffirm this choice. It guided me toward a mindset where true love and lasting peace are possible. What resonates deeply is the idea that communication and connection at this new level transcend words—an unspoken understanding rooted in eternal unity. This awareness helped me feel less trapped by the frustrations and imperfections of the world I was accustomed to. Instead, I began embracing the possibility of timeless fulfillment. For anyone exploring this lesson, I suggest patience and self-compassion. The journey is not about instant enlightenment but about gradually learning to let go with trust and openness. Recognizing that letting go is not a loss but movement toward something richer can redefine how we approach life’s changes. Ultimately, Lesson 129 offers a refreshing perspective on value and desire. It inspires us to look beyond fleeting pursuits to a state of awareness and peace that endures. This lesson taught me that sometimes the gaps we fear are invitations to embrace an extraordinary reality waiting just beyond what we know.
