A Course In Miracles Lesson 75

The light has come.

🌿 For a long time, I believed I was living in the shadow of my past.

The shadow of the offense.

The shadow of the stigma.

The shadow of a world that seemed determined to define me by one single choice.

Along the path of re-entry, those shadows can feel permanent.

But today I am learning something quieter.

The light has not arrived.

It has always been here.

The only thing that’s changed is my willingness to see it.

The world around me may look the same.

The job.

The paperwork.

The conversations.

The responsibilities.

Yet the meaning I give them is no longer shaped by grievance.

The past has not been erased.

It has simply lost its authority over how I see.

I am not a “rehabilitated” man trying to manage a damaged identity.

I am a healed person learning to recognize what was never broken.

Forgiveness has not changed the world.

It has changed my sight.

Where I once saw threat and limitation,

I now see the opportunity to extend peace.

This does not require effort or dramatic change.

It requires openness.

I do not need to construct a new future.

I only need to allow my mind to be free of old conclusions.

If a shadow seems to return, I remember:

The light has come.

I am MovingStill.

... Read moreReflecting on Lesson 75 of A Course In Miracles, I have come to deeply appreciate the subtle yet profound shift that occurs when we allow ourselves to recognize the light that has always been present within and around us. For many years, I felt trapped under the weight of past mistakes and the identities forged by those shadows. Like the author, I initially believed the light was something to be attained or that it was a new arrival, but through personal experience, I've realized that this light is ever-present — it is our willingness to see it that evolves. In my journey, forgiveness emerged not as a grand, dramatic unveiling but as a quiet surrender to openness. Forgiving the world and myself did not erase the past but diminished its authority over my perception. This lesson guided me to approach daily responsibilities, conversations, and challenges with fresh eyes, free from grievance. This shift didn’t require a complete makeover of my circumstances, only a gentle release of old conclusions and judgments. An important insight was how forgiveness transformed my sight, not the world itself. Where once I saw barriers and threats, I began to notice opportunities for peace and healing. This subtle internal change brought about a sense of freedom and peace that I hadn't thought possible. Even when shadows of doubt or old wounds appeared, reminding myself "The light has come" anchored me in serenity and hope. Practicing affirmations such as "I have forgiven the world" and committing to extended moments of reflection have been instrumental in this healing process. Embracing the concept of re-entry—coming back into full awareness and presence—helped me to reclaim my life beyond stigmas or offenses that once felt defining. Being present with openness allows the true brightness of peace and healing to shine through, making every day a new beginning. If you find yourself struggling with the shadows of your past or feeling stuck in old narratives, I encourage you to try this lesson's approach. Allow your mind to remain open, repeat the affirmations, and remind yourself that the light is always here; all it asks for is your willingness to see it. The journey from feeling damaged to healed is not about changing the world outside but transforming your vision within.
