A Course In Miracles Lesson 166
I notice how often I focus on what seems missing while overlooking what has already been given.
Lesson 166
I am entrusted with the gifts of God.
🌿 It is easy to build an identity around scarcity.
Not enough time.
Not enough certainty.
Not enough resources.
Not enough progress.
The mind becomes skilled at taking inventory of what appears absent.
And after a while, that perspective begins to feel realistic.
Even responsible.
The lesson points in a completely different direction.
It says that God's gifts have already been given.
Not eventually.
Not conditionally.
Not after I prove myself worthy.
Already given.
The challenge is not receiving them.
The challenge is believing they are actually there.
That feels surprisingly familiar.
There have been moments when support was present before I recognized it.
Strength appeared before I thought I had it.
Guidance appeared before I knew where to look.
Opportunities existed long before I believed they were possible.
The gifts were not absent.
My awareness of them was.
The Course describes a self that wanders through life believing it is poor, abandoned, and alone.
I understand that image.
Not because it is true.
Because it can feel true.
Yet the lesson says something walks with me that has never left.
A presence that continually reminds me that my perception of lack is not the same thing as reality.
That changes the question.
Instead of asking,
"What am I missing?"
I begin asking,
"What am I overlooking?"
The lesson goes even further.
The gifts entrusted to me are not mine to keep.
They are meant to be shared.
Encouragement.
Compassion.
Forgiveness.
Hope.
The more freely they move through me, the more clearly I recognize they were never scarce.
Today I'm paying attention to where I define myself through lack, limitation, or absence.
Where I overlook what has already been placed within reach.
Not forcing gratitude.
But becoming more willing to recognize the gifts that have been present all along.
I am entrusted with the gifts of God.
I am MovingStill.
