A Course In Miracles Lesson 164
I notice how rarely I stay in the present moment without immediately filling it with judgment or expectation.
Lesson 164
Now are we one with Him Who is our Source.
🌿 My mind spends a lot of time somewhere other than now.
Reviewing what happened.
Anticipating what might happen.
Evaluating what should be happening.
Even when I call it planning or reflection, there is often a subtle assumption underneath it.
That what I need is somewhere else.
In another moment.
Another outcome.
Another version of reality.
The lesson brings me back to something surprisingly simple.
Truth exists now.
Not later.
Not after I've figured everything out.
Not after circumstances improve.
Now.
The Course says there is a peace beneath the noise of the world that has never been lost.
A silence the world cannot enter.
That idea feels less abstract than it once did.
Because I've had moments where the mental activity briefly stopped.
Not permanently.
Just long enough to notice that something deeper was already there.
A stillness that wasn't created by effort.
A peace that didn't depend on solving anything.
The lesson says that what is real does not need to be built.
It only needs to be remembered.
That shifts the search entirely.
Instead of trying to create peace, I become willing to uncover it.
Instead of trying to manufacture connection, I remember it.
Now are we one with Him Who is our Source.
Not someday.
Now.
Today I'm paying attention to where I postpone peace by placing it somewhere in the future.
Where I assume I need one more condition before I can rest.
Not forcing stillness.
But becoming more willing to notice what is already here beneath the noise.
Now are we one with Him Who is our Source.
I am MovingStill.
