A love lesson from Nobita, a man who gave up the whole world but never gave up for her.
When it comes to legendary anime like Doraemon, the memory of "Nobita" in most people's eyes is a cowardly boy who doesn't learn well, gets zero points regularly, and is always bullied by Giants and Sunao, but in the midst of all the shitters, one of the things Nobita has done the best, the most stable, and has done for more than half a century is "loving Shizuka."
Nobita's view of love for Shizuka is too profound to be just a childish love, but it has hidden three main aspects of psychology, warm and beautiful relationships:
1. Love is to accept and appreciate who you really are.
In Nobita's eyes, Shisuka is not just a lovely or well-schooled girl, but she is the only "kindness" and "warmth" in his cruel world. Nobita always sees and appreciates Shisuka's tenderness, whether it's when she loves animals, helps others, or even the generosity of being friends with an end-of-the-room child like him.
2. "She must be happy," though, in that happiness...There won't be me.
This is the most abysmal and echoing aspect of Nobita's selfless love. There is an episode in which Nobita realizes that he is too bad and fears that if Shizuka marries him in the future, she will be hard and crying. Nobita even decided to behave badly to make Shizuka hate and try to relegate her to the more perfect Dekisugi.
For Nobita, "Shizuka's happiness is more important than his own needs." He is heartbroken, willing to cry quietly on a dark night, better than seeing a loving woman suffer because of his incompetence.
3. The drive to turn yourself into the "best version" for her.
Although Nobita is lazy and likes to sleep in the middle of the day, the only "driving force" that makes him diligent in reading, getting up, or jumping into danger in a mysterious land is the word "to protect Shisuka." Love makes a weak boy move his blanket to change himself. He knows that he can't change the past, but he wants to change the future so that he is strong enough to be a "safe space" and a refuge for her on the day of adulthood.
In the special episode Stand by Me, there's a sentence in which Shizuka's father says of Nobita the night before the wedding,
"That kid...There is nothing outstanding, but he is a man who rejoices in the happiness of others and hurts the suffering of others. That is the most important thing in man, and I am sure that he can make you happy. "
In the end, Shisuka did not choose to marry the best, most stable, or most handsome student like Dekisuki, but she chose the yellow-shirted boy with this glasses because Nobita made her realize that all the time and forever in the future, his whole world will be only you, and no one's palm will embrace her feelings as warm as Nobita's palm. 🎉
